since John Montagu invented it in 1762, but his great-great-etc.
relatives are still perfecting them at Earl of Sandwich, which
opens its
first Manhattan location tomorrow, September 2, at 1290 Sixth
Avenue. The shop's midtown outpost will be followed by a second New
York location in the financial district, expected to open this
